Using in Groups¶
Supported Platforms
Cavuer agents support group chat functionality across various platforms.
Setup Instructions¶
To connect a WhatsApp channel to a group:
- Open the group chat you want to add the channel to
- Add the account (phone number) connected to the channel to the group chat
- The channel will automatically start processing messages in the group
To connect a Telegram channel to a group:
- Add the bot created via BotFather to the group chat where agent support is needed
- Important: Disable the bot's privacy settings via BotFather
- This allows the bot to read all messages in the group
- Without this step, the bot will only see messages that directly mention it

Key Features¶
Multi-User Support¶
The agent correctly recognizes and distinguishes each group member. Different people can hold conversations with the agent simultaneously, and it will respond to each user based on their specific question.
User A: "Cavuer what is the status of my last order?"
Agent: "Hi Alex! Your last order #45678 placed on March 10 is currently out for delivery and should arrive by Friday."
User B: "Cavuer what about my order?"
Agent: "Hello Maria! Your last order #91234 was delivered yesterday according to tracking. Is there an issue with it?"
User A: "Cavuer when will it arrive?"
Agent: "According to the carrier's tracking, your order #45678 is expected to be delivered by Friday, March 19. Would you like me to send you the tracking link again?"
Trigger Word Protection¶
Preventing Excessive Responses
To prevent the agent from responding to every message in an active group, you can set a Trigger Word that must be used to activate the agent.
How it works:¶
- Set a trigger word in the channel settings (e.g., "Cavuer")
- The agent will only respond to messages that start with this word in the channel where the trigger word is set. If the field is left empty, the agent will respond to every message
- Example: "Cavuer How do I create a Telegram bot?"
- Messages without the trigger word will be ignored
Trigger Word Example
For a support group, you can set the trigger word to "Help" or "Support"
User: "Support I'm having trouble connecting my account"
Agent: "I understand you're having connection issues. Let's sort this out..."
User: "When will this be fixed?"
Agent: [No response — trigger word was not used]
